Here, you think that mountains and seas are competing for who will charm most the friends of nature.
The Municipal beaches are covered with a lot of smooth sand and actually consists half of the seaside part of the western Xanthi. Many kilometers of sandy beaches with progressive deepening, suitable for those new to swimming. Ideal for families, water sports, sunbathing, games, beach-volley, riding, tennis by the beach, beach parties, water-ski e.t.c. There are fisheries for the friends of fresh fish, shell cultures and model fish cultures, of the Association of Erasmio, in natural canals. These canals are also wetlands with rich flora and rare birds. The wetlands extend as far as the area of Dasohori mouth of Nestos Delta. All the regions of the beaches are protected by the RAMSAR Convention and are environmentally controlled. In the Beaches of Maggana and Erasmio there are organized municipal campings for 120 trailers and tents for each one, with places and buildings of public use. All the beaches are free to public access and have refreshment rooms and primary necessities. |
